We’re thrilled to announce that David Ball has signed a contract until the summer of 2026, with an option of a further year.
The striker initially arrived at the Neuven Stadium from New Zealand-based outfit Wellington Phoenix in March, where he departed as a club legend following a near six-year stay and went on to make four appearances in the closing stages of our 2024/25 National League North campaign.
After choosing number 16 last season, Ball has now opted to don the number 31 shirt moving forwards in homage to his youngest son’s birthday, and will look to make his mark in both his, and Radcliffe’s second campaign in the sixth tier of English football.
David spoke to the media team after the 35-year-old put pen-to-paper, sharing his happiness and what will be expected of him and the team next season.
Ball, said: ‘I’m delighted to get this done quickly after really enjoying my short time at the football club last season. After a chat with the managers at the end of the campaign, both parties were eager for me to stay and I’m glad it’s over the line. I’ve loved the environment at the football club and I believe the players coming in show the intent of the owner and the managers.
The team is an honest group and we know with the players we have in the dressing room last year wasn’t acceptable, but you learn a lot from seasons like the last as a group. I know all of the lads will be demanding of each other to be pushing at the other end of the table next year, and I’m happy that I get the opportunity to be a part of it.’
