Radcliffe make the hour-long journey to Buxton for matchday number 29 of the Vanarama National League North campaign, with implications at both ends of the table at stake for the two sides in this upcoming fixture.

With three wins, two losses and two draws to Radcliffe’s record in the league so far in 2025, the Boro will aim to edge further away from the relegation zone with a crucial set of three points this weekend. After missing out on Tuesday night’s fixture against Spennymoor Town due to the adverse weather conditions, Bernard and Jonno’s men go into this fixture fresh off a 4-1 victory at home to Southport.

The Opposition

John McGrath’s men have had a fantastic campaign so far as the Bucks find themselves fifth in the table, amongst a heavily contested play-off and title-chasing pack.

It may be a bad time for Radcliffe to face Buxton as they are the most in-form team in the division with five wins in their last six and only one loss, scoring 13 in those six games, conceding six goals so there may be chances for the Boro to take advantage of. Last time out, Buxton were victorious at home against South Shields and will be looking for a similar result come Saturday evening.

Ones To Watch

A man in-form and one for the Radcliffe defence to keep a keen eye on is Luke Brennan, the former Blackburn youngster has been rarely off the scoresheet since joining the Bucks on a permanent transfer in November. He currently has 10 league goals to his name and will want to add to his tally on Saturday afternoon. Brennan has also had spells at Wigan, The New Saints and two stints at Fylde.

29-year-old Tom Elliott has been a reliable source for scoring and providing goals this season, having netted on nine occasions whilst also assisting seven times in 27 appearances. Originally signing from Hednesford Town in 2020, the attacking midfielder counts Darlington, Nuneaton Borough and Worksop Town amongst his former sides.

Last Time Out

When the Bucks came to the Neuven Stadium to face Radcliffe on matchday 14, John McGrath’s team ran out 2-0 victors with late goals in the 83rd minute, and seven minutes into added time.

In a contested fixture between the two throughout the ninety minutes, it was Buxton who took the lead in the 83rd minute through Connor Kirby via a marvellous free kick from range. Radcliffe then fought back late on to salvage a point, but Diego DeGirolamo ended Radcliffe’s hopes seven minutes into injury time with a clinical finish from close range.
