Radcliffe added another point to our league tally following a 3-3 draw in the second game of August bank holiday weekend away at Hereford on Monday, and with ample opportunity to rest after a busy weekend of football, Radcliffe can now prepare for a home fixture against King’s Lynn Town.

The Opposition

King’s Lynn Town was officially born in 2010 following the folding of King’s Lynn FC. Since becoming King’s Lynn Town, they have reached the heights of the National League back in 2020 but are seen as a stable and consistent side in the National League North.

In this current campaign, Adam Lakeland’s side have accumulated nine points from their
opening five fixtures. In these opening five games, the Linnets are averaging 1.4 goals scored per game, whilst averaging under 1 goal conceded per game.

In their first two away fixtures this campaign, the Linnets have one win and one loss to their name with the win coming against Marine and the loss against Alfreton Town. They’ll be looking for back-to-back away wins this weekend at the Neuven Stadium.

Last time out on bank holiday monday, King’s Lynn Town were defeated 2-1 at home by Peterborough Sports. The Linnets were 1-0 down at the break following an early opener from Peterborough Sports and fell further behind less than 10 minutes into the second half, however they did pull one back in hope of a comeback when Jonny Margetts halved the deficit, but it wasn’t enough to claw anything from the game.

Ones to Watch

A player familiar to the Radcliffe faithful already, Jonny Margetts will definitely be a threat to the Boro back line. Before joining the Linnets, Margetts hit four goals for Matlock Town in the Boro’s 23/24 league-winning campaign. Having come through the Hull academy and learning his trade throughout the non-league pyramid, he’ll certainly be one to keep an eye out for.

24-year-old midfielder Josh Hmami ventured across various different academies as a youngster and has since endured a few spells in non-league, as well as playing in the Welsh Premier League. However, he found solidarity when playing over 100 appearances for Southport before joining King’s Lynn Town this summer. Hmani is a threat with the ball at his feet and has that creative spark, already providing two assists already this season, he’ll be looking to deliver some more damage this coming weekend.
