Radcliffe head south to battle with Oxford City in search of three points this afternoon, in a match where victory would put the Boro in a position to secure safety against Scunthorpe United next Saturday.
The Opposition
Oxford City enter the game with just one defeat in their last seven matches, a run of games that includes draws against high-flying outfits such as Scunthorpe United and Chester. Wins over both South Shields and Warrington Town have allowed Ross Jenkins’ side to create a seven-point gap to the bottom four with only 18 points left to play for.
Despite being in relatively good form, Oxford City have only managed one win in the last five matches at home, including a 7-0 defeat at the hands of play-off chasing Buxton. This should be a small advantage for Radcliffe who’ve performed fairly well on the road of late, only failing to pick up anything in three of their last ten away fixtures.
A season filled with struggles hasn’t stopped the Hoops from having success in cup competitions however, having endured a deep run in the FA Trophy before being knocked out in the Quarter Final by Woking, the team who bypassed the Boro at the start of January for a place in the Round of 16.
Ones To Watch
Zac McEachran has managed to find the back of the net on eight occasions throughout the campaign, with a further six assists to his name in his 39 appearances, and will be looking to add to that at the MGroup Stadium this weekend. The 29-year-old forward has only managed three goal contributions since the turn of the year, but he is still the second top scorer in the side however.
30-year-old left midfielder Lewis Coyle has made a big impact across the course of the season, making 33 starts and recording four goals and four assists in the current campaign. Coyle first joined the Hoops in August 2020 from Kidlington FC and has been an ever-present member of the side since.

Last Time Out
Saturday 26th October 2024 – Radcliffe 1-3 Oxford City
Tunde Owolabi’s first-half goal put the Boro ahead on the 28-minute mark, but Oxford’s equaliser in added time, before further blows after the restart denied Radcliffe anything from the game, as the visitors left with maximum points.
Tom Scott picked up the first booking of the game giving Radcliffe an opportunity to test the City defence, which the the Boro gratefully took advantage of to open the scoring. The initial ball into the area was won by the visitors but Radcliffe were first to the second and Rick Smith battled to flick across the six-yard area, into the space where Owolabi lurked as the number 30 poked home his third goal in five matches after 28 minutes.
Just thirty seconds before the break, the away side were level. Zac McEachran played Corie Andrews through one-on-one with Mateusz Hewelt, who was unable to push the striker wide enough as he rounded the ‘keeper and rolled the ball into the back of the net.
In the 61st minute, the visitors got their noses in front. McEachran was teed up for a shot from the edge of the area that was spilled by the Polish keeper, and Scott was in the right place to take advantage by slotting the ball into the far corner.
Oxford extended their lead to two in the 77th minute as McEachran added a third for the away side with a well-placed shot into the bottom right corner from the edge of the area, after Parker had threaded the ball through on goal for the number ten.
Six additional minutes were played at the end of the match, but Radcliffe were unable to create any chances of note in the final minutes as the referee blew for full-time with the scoreline at 3-1.
