Radcliffe round out a three-game home run by hosting mid-table Peterborough Sports at the Neuven Stadium looking to get back to winning ways following a narrow defeat last time out.

A victory would no doubt help to boost confidence levels ahead of the trip to 23rd-placed Rushall Olympic on Saturday, but all eyes are currently situated on the task at hand this evening.

The Opposition

Peterborough Sports enter Tuesday’s game with just one defeat in their last five, wins over Farsley Celtic, Rushall Olympic and Oxford City, as well as a draw with Curzon Ashton mean that they recently climbed up to 11th in the table. The visitors have only lost four matches since November 2nd, with the full quadruple coming against the teams that currently make up the league’s top four spots.

Still in with a shot of the top seven, The Turbines could move to 10th and just four points off Curzon Ashton if they were to come away with a full complement of points from the Neuven stadium.

Ones To Watch

Michael Gyasi is Peterborough Sports’ top goalscorer after 34 league matches, scoring eight goals in the process. The forward was a part of the Boston United side that were promoted via the play-offs last season but only accumulated 33 appearances, starting twice and scoring once. In this campaign, the 25-year-old has been credited with 14 goal contributions, including a 12-minute hat-trick against Alfreton Town.

Max Booth has surprised many in the league with his performances so far this season, and he’ll be looking to continue his for in Greater Manchester. The 26-year-old joined Peterborough Sports in November from step five side Stanway Pegasus and he managed to score on his first start, an FA Trophy contest against Chelmsford City, and has since converted five league goals in nine matches since the turn of the year.

Last Time Out

26th November 2024 – Peterborough Sports 1-1 Radcliffe

Bernard and Jonno’s side looked set to take maximum points back to Greater Manchester when Lucas Weaver struck into the far corner of the net after 85 minutes, but the hosts restored parity deep into added time to break the traveling Boro hearts.

Rick Smith’s long ball was brought down and held up expertly by Hulme before spreading the attacking play out to Weaver on the right side of the box, he then got the ball out of his feet and lashed into the far corner of the net in front of the travelling faithful.

However, there was still a twist in the tale as Peterborough levelled the terms in the final few moments. A long throw into the box was nodded away into the path of Bland who recycled the attack by lofting back towards the area, straight onto the head of Gallagher to rise highest and guide home before sprinting into the direction of the Peterborough fans in celebration, ending the game with a 1-1 draw.
