Tonight, Radcliffe travel to the east coast to face Scarborough Athletic in search of three points following a share of the spoils on Saturday afternoon, as Bernard and Jonno’s side came away with a point after a 1-1 draw at King’s Lynn Town.

The Boro have only lost one of the last five away trips, with draws against Scunthorpe, Peterborough Sports, Needham Market and King’s Lynn.

The Opposition

The Seadogs are currently headed for a mid-table finish after a flying start to the season that saw them reach as high as second on matchday four. By game 12, Scarborough were back in the middle of the pack, with goals flying in at both ends of the pitch. Jonathan Greening’s men are in the top 8 for goals scored, but also the bottom six for goals conceded.

Less than half of Scarborough’s points have come from matches at the Scarborough Sports Village, with only 16 points from 14 home games. After winning three of their first five home league matches, the Seadogs have only seen victory once in the last nine home matches.

Over the last ten matches, Scarborough have scored 19 goals with five coming in a win against the struggling Farsley Celtic. Eight matches have passed since they last failed to find the back of the net, and have converted in the first half in their last five games.

Since Scarborough Athletic’s reformation in 2007, the two sides have met 13 times. The Seadogs have come out on top overall with nine wins compared to Radcliffe’s three. On six visits to Scarborough, Radcliffe have never returned with a point.

Ones To Watch

After scoring a hat-trick at the Neuven Stadium on the opening day, Scarborough’s Dom Tear has been involved in every league match this campaign. The 25-year-old has found the back of the net in seven of his 30 appearances, scoring ten goals overall. Tear has registered three goals in January, including a brace against league leaders Chester.

Scarborough’s Player of the Month for January is Luca Colville, who will be looking to continue his form tonight. Described as ‘the wizard’, Colville scored twice and registered one assist in four matches over the 31 days. He also recently provided the pass for Will Thornton’s finish against South Shields last Saturday.

Last Time Out

The two sides last met on the opening day of the campaign, when the Boro left it late to claim a point in an action-packed 3-3 draw.

Scarborough had established a two-goal cushion thanks to a brace from Dom Tear, before a perfectly struck free kick from debutant Tom Walker halved the deficit and inspired a Radcliffe comeback, as Josh Hancock tapped home two minutes after the restart to restore parity.

An entertaining second half saw Radcliffe a goal down for its majority after initially drawing level, as Tear completed his hat-trick just before the hour mark with a powerful strike into the top left corner of the net.

A late stoppage time goal from second-half substitute Anthony Dudley rescued a point late on, with an excellent finish into the bottom right corner from 20 yards out to cue mass celebration amongst the Radcliffe faithful.
