Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s squad travel to the North East to face off against the management duo’s former club on Tuesday evening.
A victory for the travelling Boro squad would create a 10-point buffer to the drop zone with just 18 matches to play. Radcliffe have every reason to believe that taking points from the play-off hopefuls is possible as the Boro have lost just one of their last five matches away from home.
The Opposition
Spennymoor Town enter Tuesday’s match with the play-offs, and a trip to Wembley via the FA Trophy very much within reach. March began with a 2-0 win for the Moors in the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy and continued with four victories, one draw and one defeat at the hands of Buxton.
Three victories on the bounce added up to an aggregate score of 8-0, including wins over King’s Lynn Town, Needham Market and Farsley Celtic meaning that Spennymoor Town sit in tenth place, just six points off the edge of the top seven, with two games in hand as well as a better goal difference than all but two sides in the division.
In recent matches, the Moors’ goals have come from a variety of sources with six players having contributed to the last eight goals. 13 separate players have chipped in with league goals over the course of the season, with seven of those players having added more than five goals.
Ones To Watch
It’s almost impossible to not identify as Glenn Taylor as one to watch when talking about Spennymoor Town. Having now hit 200 goals in all competitions for the Moors, the number nine has scored over 20 leauge goals on three separate occasions, with his lowest tally being in 23/24, when the striker only played in 28 matches yet still managed 14 league goals.
Rob Ramshaw has been on the pitch for 90% of the season, only missing out on the starting 11 once as well as playing 90 minutes 23 times, and being subbed off on three occasions. The ever-present midfielder has managed to find the net six times over the season while also being credited for four assists.

Last Time Out
Tuesday 3rd September 2024 – Radcliffe 2–4 Spennymoor Town
Radcliffe tasted defeat for the second time in three days as Spennymoor Town left the Neuven Stadium with a 4-2 victory, after a goal-filled first half which set the Moors on their way to three points, before a late goal secured the result.
Spennymoor’s first effort of the game led to the deadlock being broken early on. Issac Taylor played the ball into the middle of the park from the left flank which picked out Olly Dyson, his placed shot managed to navigate past both the defenders and Mateusz Hewelt, finding the back of the net off the post in the 7th minute.
After finding themselves behind early on, Radcliffe levelled the match in the 22nd minute. Via a cross from the left-hand side, Rick Smith headed back across goal for Brad Roscoe to tap home from within the six-yard area.
Seven minutes after making the contest all square, Roscoe managed to beat Jonathan Mitchell for a second time to put Radcliffe ahead on the half-hour mark.
Nine minutes before half-time, Isaac Fletcher evened the scoreline once again for Spennymoor. Scott Duxbury was judged to have fouled his man on the edge of the penalty area and received a yellow card for his troubles, Fletcher then shouldered responsibility for the set piece and struck the ball through the wall and into the back of the net.
Before the break, Spennymoor added a third to complete a quick turnaround and give the visitors a 3-2 lead. A speculative shot at goal squirmed through the arms of Hewelt, allowing a fortunate Zanda Siziba to react fast and tap the ball into an empty net.
The Boro piled bodies forward in search of an equaliser and in the 84th minute, Jackson’s poor delivery was intercepted by a Spennymoor player and Fletcher ran the entire Radcliffe half of the pitch before rounding the ‘keeper for his sixth of the season, punishing the home side’s attacking overload by putting the game to bed.
