We’re thrilled to announce that the club has activated the option in Lois Maynard’s contract, keeping him at the Neuven Stadium until the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Originally putting pen-to-paper in July 2023, Maynard instantly played his part in success at the Neuven Stadium as he featured 32 times in Radcliffe’s title-winning campaign, operating in both a defensive midfielder role and in the centre of the back line.
More recently, the former Tranmere Rovers, Stockport County and Oldham Athletic man helped the Boro to secure safety in the National League North with 43 games under his belt, scoring two goals via headers from corners to show his aerial prowess at both ends of the field.
Lois will be aiming for more success in England’s sixth tier under Bernard and Jonno, similar to his previous well-documented endeavours with Salford City, and he spoke about exactly what he’s looking to achieve when recently speaking to the media.
Maynard, said: ‘I’m absolutely over the moon to continue my time at Radcliffe for another season, and I’d like to thank the club for that. The previous two years have obviously been a mixed bag, the first being genuinely one of the best seasons of football I’ve ever had, not just because of the success, but the whole group and the connection with the fans was incredible, which has always remained.
Obviously the second season being a very frustrating one to everyone involved, but that just shows you our expectancy and beliefs that we should’ve been fighting at the top, which is what we aim to do next season.
On a personal level, I’m very frustrated about how last season materialised, but also glad that the latest goal was achieved. Like the rest of us, I’ll be coming back fresh minded and ready to go, whilst also using last season’s frustrations as fuel to really kick on and show what Radcliffe stands for – see you all next season!’
