Radcliffe FC are delighted to announce the signing of former Bolton Wanderers and Norwich City midfielder, Regan Riley. The 21-year-old arrives back in Greater Manchester from the Canaries, after leaving Norfolk in the summer following a three-year stint.

Born in Bolton, Riley featured throughout the Wanderers academy for a decade after originally joining at the age of nine. At 16 years-old, he made his first-team debut in August 2019 as a second-half substitute away at Tranmere Rovers, before going on to make a handful of further appearances.

Joining as part of the club’s development and academy setup, Riley penned a three-year contract with Norwich City in the summer of 2021, joining for a substantial six-figure fee before leaving at the end of last season after featuring regularly for the Championship outfit’s Under 21’s side.

Described as a box-to-box midfielder, Riley brings tenacity, solidity and intelligence to the centre of the park with a keen eye for approaching duels and winning headers in key areas, and is also able to provide his ability as a right back or a right-wing back, becoming a versatile option for Bernard and Jonno to call upon.

Our new signing has put pen to paper on a one-year contract at M26, with the option of an additional year.

Welcome to the Neuven Stadium, Regan!
