Radcliffe FC are delighted to announce the return of exciting forward Tunde Owolabi, who signs a one-year deal with an option at the Neuven Stadium.
The 29-year-old joins the Boro following his departure from Southport, after originally signing for the west-coast outfit in June. Owolabi came on as a second-half substitute against Radcliffe three weeks ago, and almost won the game for his side by striking the post deep into added time.
Radcliffe fans will have fond memories of Tunde’s first spell at the club, as his emphatic efforts guided us to a second-place finish in the 2018/19 season, before going on to achieve promotion to the NPL Premier Division via the play-off final.
In that campaign, he found the back of the net 26 times and added 13 assists for his teammates in 46 appearances, earning him a spot in the Team of the Season, whilst also achieving Club Player of the Season and NPL Supporters Player of the Season, amongst a whole host of other awards.
Since then, the Belgian has featured for the likes of FC United of Manchester, Hamilton Academical, St Patrick’s Athletic and Macclesfield, maintaining a solid scoring rate across his career with just under 100 goals since originally leaving the Neuven Stadium.
Our new signing will bring an immediate attacking threat, adding pace and power to our forward options with a keen eye for goal and the tenacity to take you off your seats.
Tunde spoke to the media after penning his contract, explaining his reasons to return to the club.
Owolabi, said: ‘I feel so happy to be back, it’s been a while but it’s a club that I’ve always felt the love from the fans. When the opportunity came for me to come back, it was one that I felt I was ready to take on. I’m happy to be in an environment that I know very well, and I can’t wait to get started!’
Welcome back to the Neuven Stadium, Tunde!
