Lewis Rawsthorn

Lewis Rawsthorn first signed for the Boro in September 2023 on a dual registration, after he had impressed with Atherton LR in the North West Counties. The 21-year-old forward, who has spent the majority of his time out on loan, is already off the mark in league action for Radcliffe having netted away at Gainsborough Trinity in our final game of the title-winning campaign.

Rawsthorn began his 2024/25 campaign on loan at FC United of Manchester, where he made five appearances before making the switch to join Atherton Collieries. In his short spell with the Colls, the promising youngster found the back of the net on one occasion.

His final stop for the season was Stalybridge Celtic, where he took to the pitch 25 times as he finished the campaign as the club’s third-highest scorer for the season. Rawsthorn managed ten league goals, including two braces against Nantwich Town and Chasetown, and also converted in the quarter-final of the Manchester Premier Cup against a full-strength Curzon Ashton side.

Brad Rose

Radcliffe’s 20-year-old shot-stopper has spent the duration of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at North West Counties Premier Division outfit Ramsbottom United, where he made 35 appearances in all competitions as the side finished comfortably in third.

Rose, who arrived at the Boro in September 2022 as the back up to then goalkeeper Tom Stewart, kept 15 clean sheets in his time with the Rams, which included seven clean sheets in a 10-game run between October and December.

Manager Anthony Johnson was full of praise for the four youngsters when asked by the media.

Jonno, said: ‘We’re really happy with the progress made by all four of the younger lads. When we send them out on loan to gain experience, we don’t just forget about them, we watch what they’re doing, speak with the coaches at their loan clubs and put a plan in place for them to reintegrate back into first-team training with us. All four have tremendous attitudes, and we believe the next pre-season is when they’ll flourish in our environment.’
